On a different and entirely self-indulgent note: this year’s Triple J Hottest 100 was lame. 2009 was a great year for music, but you wouldn’t know it from the countdown. Here are, as far as I’m concerned, the 25 best songs of 2009. No justification. Just a list.

You can just read it, or, if you have the time & inclination, you can listen/watch/download via the links (all legal).

Of course, I welcome & expect argumentation regarding the merits of my selections!

  1. Hello Rich

As one who is generally ignorant of such matters but enjoys good music nonetheless, I liked your post so much I have downloaded all the freebies. Also, I have been feeling my ipod is a little stale.

    Thanks!!

    • Little Secrets is addictive; you should hear it in concert, it’s brilliant! Certainly not the best song of the year, though. IMO, of course :)
